Swift and Seamless: Expert Connections, Perfect Ring

A beautiful, classic ring design that we custom made in 2 weeks.

I’m lucky enough to live in a community where people know what I do for a living and every so often, I am asked to help with a project. I was approached by a man who was looking to get engaged and he started asking me about diamonds and creating an engagement ring for his girlfriend.

He asked me to speak to his father as his father had more knowledge about diamonds than he did. When I spoke to his father, he asked me a lot of questions about diamond grading, pricing, lab-grown vs. natural and several other questions. I was able to address all of his concerns with confidence and knowledge.

After we felt comfortable with each other, I was able to quickly get him 6 diamonds of various sizes and specifications that were currently in our inventory and speak to him about each diamond to help him narrow down his selection.

After carefully considering his options, we narrowed his choices down to a few diamonds. I was further able to send him a Diamond DNA Report through my phone so he could see the diamond in a 360-degree view that shows the light dispersion, reflection and refraction, the cut of the diamond and, of course, the GIA report. These reports are invaluable when you are working with showing diamonds virtually.

Once the diamond was chosen, I met with him in our office and spoke to his girlfriend over the phone as well. I was able to model several ring designs and showed her the diamond they chose in each setting. She settled on a beautiful, classic ring design that we had custom made in 2 weeks.

When he proposed with the perfect ring, she said YES!

Tip: When you are thinking about proposing, there are two critical things you need to know. One is the shape of the diamond that she likes as well as her ring size. The worst thing that can happen is that you propose with a ring that is either too small or too big. A good jewelry designer can give you tips on how to find her ring size.
