When I appraise estates, I come across a huge amount of jewelry. Sometimes I see a piece that appeals to me personally and I consider buying it. Of course, I ask the client if I can buy it from them and I pay them the same amount of money that I would sell it for.

This is exactly what happened when I saw this turquoise and gold ring. It fit my finger perfectly and I held onto it for about a year. Every time I went to a jewelry show, I took the ring with me hoping I would find a matching pair of earrings, but I never found anything that I liked and matched well enough.

So, I decided why not make myself a custom pair of earrings. I looked through my collection of gemstones (35 years of collecting stones, I have boxes filled with various gems) and I found these oval turquoise gems that coordinated with my ring.

Between all the projects going on, I asked my production team to create these 18k diamond and turquoise earrings for me. The finished result is exactly what I wanted and now I want to make a necklace as well.

There is no end to the amount of jewelry that one can own. I believe that jewelry is a wardrobe just like your clothing, and when you find something you like, you add to it and can wear it for many years.

Tip: Create jewelry that coordinates with your wardrobe. You will be more likely to wear it often and enjoy it for many years.
