Replacing Lost Treasures

I recently completed a design project for a young man who wanted to replace a missing treasured pendant that his fiancée no longer had. I had come highly recommended by a dear friend who was sure I’d be able to create this custom design, to specification, in a very short amount of time and at the right price.

They were on vacation in Sardinia and had purchased a 22K yellow gold coin. My challenge was to custom make a simple frame that would fit the coin perfectly, which would allow her to wear this as a pendant.

When I work with clients, I always ask them for their level of involvement, and he wanted to be very involved, so I sent him photos of the 3D model which he approved. Together, we had it cast in 18K yellow gold, and then it was set and polished. The finishing touch was a 18K yellow gold bail to match the frame.

I delivered the pendant two days early, to add to her 30th birthday celebration. Because I have such good relationships with my model maker, my caster, jeweler, setter and polisher, I can get things done quickly without compromising quality.

If you’re ever in the position where you’ve lost a treasured piece, I can duplicate it, even from a single photograph.

Tip: There are different colors and carats of gold. The higher the carat, the softer the gold and the easier it is to scratch. Keep your high carat gold items in separate boxes, to avoid showing too much wear and tear. If something is showing wear, I can always have it polished or buffed, to bring it back to life!
