In Tribute

I was commissioned to create a very special pendant in tribute to the life of an exceptional man who is no longer with us. My client wanted to create something she could wear close to her heart every day, with the logo of his company on one side and his thumbprint on the other.

Glen Roven, (--------link bio-----) Emmy Award winning composer, lyricist, conductor, pianist, and CD Producer, had his own record label and wrote music for the theater, among many other projects and interests. He was the brother to my client, and uncle to her two boys. It was very important to her that we take our time with this piece; her priority was that we get it just right. She was already wearing something around her neck and liked the proportions of that, but wanted it to be more substantial.

I used that as a gauge to create his tribute.

My client had obtained her brother's finger prints immediately after his death and I took the prints to my 3D model maker, who was able to determine which one would be most visible. He digitized the print and I provided him the business logo which he modeled for the front. A unique bail on top made the piece even more special.

I was so happy to give her this pendant; her response blew me away. Every time I’ve seen her since, she is wearing it. Glen is with her every day.

TIP: I can digitize almost anything into a piece of jewelry.

One of the reasons I started doing custom work is that when I worked with retailers, I noticed how often my clients would tell me what pieces they liked if only we could change this or that detail. Now when I meet a client, I know from experience that anything can be done, and made specifically to your taste.
