Everyday Diamonds

When you sell gold, your first step is to remove any diamonds or colored gemstones.

From there you have a few options. You can sell the gold and precious gemstones, or you can repurpose these materials into something new.

A client of mine recently chose the second option. She wanted to create a modern, simple everyday necklace from the loose diamonds that were left over from a recent gold sale.

I showed her many design options, including a stacked design with multiple rows, a single row of diamonds and a v-shaped design, to name a few (screenshots below).

She ultimately chose the single-row design, but wanted to make it longer to accommodate all of her loose diamonds. This way the necklace was more custom and sat perfectly on her collar bone, making it a comfortable everyday necklace that can be dressed up or down.

Whether you choose to sell or repurpose your diamonds, there’s always an opportunity to create something brand new.

TIP: It's best to separate the diamonds and colored gemstones before selling your gold. Diamonds and gemstones have a higher value, once they’ve been removed from the gold in fine jewelry pieces.
