Measuring for the Perfect Fit

Custom Cufflink Inspired Gold and Diamond Earrings made by Jane Becker for JB Jewels

What happens when you inherit a piece of jewelry you know you will never wear?

This happened to my client who received a pair of rectangular, diamond gold cufflinks from her father. She was never going to wear them herself. Instead, she wanted to make a pair of unique earrings that would fit her style.

Back of cufflinks

This wasn't such an easy transformation, as we had to find an earring back that fit her exact measurements.

We first had to remove the cufflink back and measure her ear size. An example of the back of the cufflink pictured to the right.

Then, we found an earring back ideal for her shape.

The result turned out perfectly. This secure earring back ensures she will not lose another earring.

She also had been wanted to treat herself to a diamond necklace she could wear every day.

We determined the length that would ensure it fell below her neck in its most flattering manner. Then, we worked together to create an "every-day" look with a 20 point diamond in the middle and 5 point diamonds along the length of the necklace.

She absolutely loved the resulting design and will be wearing it for many years to come.

"The perfect fit" doesn't just apply to your clothes, but to your jewelry as well.

TIP: No piece of jewelry is one-size-fits-all. You need to work with a seasoned professional who understands the design process to ensure your jewelry falls exactly as you would like.
