Large 14K Signet Ring in Rose Gold with Artfully Placed Rubies, Sapphires, and Diamonds

A few months ago I was honored to be asked to speak at NAPO, the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. They gave me the opportunity to talk about how I appraise, sell, and recreate inherited jewelry. A lot of the professional organizers that I met as a result of this opportunity now use me as a resource, and refer me to their clients.

One such client had me come over to her home and showed me all of her fine jewelry. She loves high end and contemporary designer jewelry. She had several repairs that I took care of for her, and she had a collection of vintage Indian jewelry that she had from her mother that didn't suit her style. The pieces in the collection were high karat gold with gemstones. She loved the gemstones which included rubies, pink sapphires, and diamonds, however the Indian craftsmanship was not to her taste, as her preference leans towards clean lines.

So we removed the gemstones from the jewelry, leaving us with a nice collection of small round gems which she wanted to keep. We sold the gold, and since it was high karat, we were able to sell it for a high amount.

Then she had this idea of putting all the gems together in one ring that she can wear for an event that she's going to - as well as in the future. In my experience when you have a lot of pink and red gems, it looks really good in rose gold because the rose gold enhances the color of the gemstones. I suggested that we create a large signet ring in rose gold and artfully place the rubies, sapphires, and diamonds.

In order to accommodate the number of stones she had, we needed a signet ring that was larger, perhaps, then most women's rings. I found a man's ring that had the surface area we needed. I was able to bring her a sample of this ring to try on to make sure it would work on her finger. She loved it and we had it created in rose gold for her ring size.

The next step was to come up with an artful design to enhance the gemstones, and though we'd collaborated every step of the way up until this point, she left this final decision up to me. The resulting ring was exactly as she hoped for. She was thrilled with the design and couldn't wait to wear it. The last time we spoke she hadn't taken it off her finger!

Tip: Just because you see a lot of white gold, silver, and yellow gold - don't forget different color gold options! Rose gold, green gold or higher karats of gold all have a different look. Contact me with questions!

Take care,

Jane
